“I don’t think of all the misery but of all the beauty that still remains.” This is a quote from Anne Frank and I think it gives a perfect example of how she portrayed survival. Anne Frank lived in a time where it was very complicated for her to survive. She lived while the Holocaust was taking toll on everyone around the world, especially her and her family because they were jewish and hid away from the Nazis in the secret annex. Anne Frank managed to portray survival in this difficult time by being creative, social, and optimistic. Anne Frank was a very creative person. We know this mostly by her diary. The way she writes, describes things, and explains her life is so creative it’s hard to believe she was a young teen. I believe that this helped Anne Frank survive her time in the annex by giving her someone to talk to. Also to help her think of when she could finally escape the annex and live free again.She stated many times in the dairy that this was her reason for waking up. The most compelling evidence of this is her talking to Peter. Peter acted as her human diary. She felt she could tell him things that she couldn't tell the other people in the annex. Another example is her relationship with her father. Her father is who she turned to out of her parents and who helped her through difficult situations. Without her father she would not have been able to deal with her struggles of the annex.
