Harriet Tubman. A well known famous “conductor” in the Underground railroad, to free many slaves. She was born into slavery and had always dreamed about freedom and what it would feel like. Harriet risked her life to escape then came back multiple times for both family members and other slaves who she barely knew. She was willing to travel 90 miles each time back and forth to save people she barely knew. Amazing right? Her attitude toward slavery was more like disgust and hatred. She was willing to do anything, even risk her life, to escape from a dreaded life of sickness, hard labor, and death.
