“Inside Out” by Francisco Jimenez is a Realistic fiction about a kid who speaks a different language from the others. In the beginning, Francisco goes on the bus that will soon arrive at his new school. Soon, he is meeting his new teacher and the principal and his classmates but doesn't understand what there saying because they speak English and he speaks Spanish. He got into a fight with a popular kid and gave a good picture to his teacher, she hung it up but then one day it was missing. In the end, Francisco sees his teacher holding his picture with a blue ribbon knowing he did something good. The kid, he got into a fight with ended up being friends with Francisco. This story shows that Francisco struggles with fitting in. One reason Francisco struggles with fitting in is because its hard for him to make friends. He does not speak the same language as the others so it is hard to make friends if you don't even know if you like the same things. In paragraph 13 Francisco trys to fit in so he played with the kids. Francisco heard the name “Curtis”.He was always chosen last for the games because he was small and didn't speak English. He never knew what the teacher was saying but the only word he knew the teacher would say was his name. He never knew when she called it if he was in trouble or he was getting reworded. In paragraph 10-12, francisco has trouble listening because his teacher is reading and was showing pictures he tried his best to know what it was about but couldn't so he made up his own story due to the pictures.
