Jeremiah’s Call Experience
Jeremiah was chosen by God, before he was even born. God will always choose the people in which he wants to serve through, before they are even born, or know that God has a grip on their lives. When Jeremiah was just a though in his father’s head, God was forming the idea of him. Hilkiah was the father of Jeremiah. He was a Levitical priest, Jeremiah was from a small village of Anathoth, which is about 3 miles northeast of Jerusalem in the territory of Benjamin. Jeremiah was expected to follow in his father’s footsteps, this is why he was in training for service into priesthood. Little did his father know, that God was already grooming Jeremiah for the Lords service, which would not be the service of a Levitical priest. People argue that Jeremiah’s call was after the Battle of Megiddo in 609 B.C. , this argument however goes against all of Jeremiah 1:4-10.Which is absurd to think about, that someone can think that these very informational verses can just be overlooked. Theses verses have a good amount of proof in which reassures the fact that verses 4-10 are in fact when Jeremiah was called by God. People also argue that because of the scarcity of oracles during 626-609 B.C., then there was not enough evidence to determine when Jeremiah was actually called The divine confrontation begins in

Verse 7 states, “But the Lord said to me, ‘do not say, I am too young.’ You must go to everywhere I send to and say whatever I command you.” In verse 7 God tells Jeremiah that he in fact does not have to worry in the least about being to young. God allows Jeremiah to be able to accept his youth, which God will use to better serve his kingdom. God did not reprimand Jeremiah for giving an excuse about being too young, but instead the Lord encouraged Jeremiah to trust in God, the He will Guide Jeremiah everywhere in which Jeremiah is told to
