This means that he understands everyone is human and has problem that even money and power can't
The captains of industry believed that the poor people were inferior to the rich people. The rich were superior because they had “wisdom, experience, and the ability to administer”. The duty of a rich person was to help out a poor person which was what was said in the Gospel of Wealth. The Gospel of Wealth is about how the rich person's responsibility is philanthropy. Carnegie believes in charity work so he would donate to libraries, and universities and schools and etc.
His goal was to make society fair and equal, with economic possibilities
Oscar Romero lived out his faith in Jesus through helping those in need of a voice. Archbishop Oscar Romero (1917-1980) was born in a small town in the East Mountains of El Salvador. After Father Grande’s death, he was inspired to speak as a voice for the voiceless. In his time, the country was split into 2 social groups: the radical in which include the Guerrilla and Power including the 14 elite families that ruled the country. Oscar Romero sat in between the two groups but throughout the story, but he moves closer to the radical side.
Likewise, many wealthy people, including big business leaders, came to realize that it was their role in society was to give back. Due to all the negative responses, people such as Andrew Carnegie were huge philanthropists . They stated that because they were wealthy and were better inclined than most, they should be willing to help those at the bottom. Andrew Carnegie’s, Gospel of Wealth, explicitly stated how the wealthy have a moral obligation to give back (Outside Evidence). Other major responses to changes and the impact of big business were responses from the government.
Why? He did not want elites to be able to handle money. The bank went insane with the power. They became stuck. Paper money was worthless and the gold and silver was getting hard and harder to able to get.
During His time, both classes never assorted together, and it was common for the rich not to help the poor. Kraybill aims to help the readers to see Jesus’ teachings from a different view. Kraybill believes
What he did was give money to organizations, but not to the community who actually needed it. “The duty of the man of wealth is to set an example of modest living” (Document M). This says that all rich people should try and hide the money they have but, not all do that. Many people, like Carnegie, who are rich will flaunt it and not care what others say. That is not being moral or having integrity.
Since Oscar was young he seemed to be battling with the idea of being a “ True Dominican man”, constantly trying to mold himself into something he simply was not. This idea was something in which haunted him through the entirety of his brief life. Many people in his life pressured him, trying to make him this true
He has no love for others, only love for what can give him more power, gold and governmental
He believes he is better than everyone and thinks he’s superior over everybody. In his world, he believes that people don’t have to work and that money is the most important thing in the world. He thinks that wealth equals value as a person and poor people are inferior. This isn’t right because it shouldn’t matter if someone is rich or poor. It doesn’t make them less or more of a person if they have money or have no money at all.
He believed that if the wealthy don't give back some of their profits to the community, they are living a dishonorable life, and although I didn't necessarily agree with this radical viewpoint at first, I now am a firm believer in Carnegie's argument about wealth.
He believes that wealth is not the monetary value or possessions that you have, but wealth is your virtues and how you live your
RIDICULOUS STATEMENTS: He doesn't really do anything to help poor, and lower income people. He is very selfish, and just only helps the upper class. He keeps the poor suffering while the rich is still wealthy. He has no good regards for everyday citizens.
