Kimpton Hotels & Restaurant Group

The Kimpton Hotel and Restaurant group was founded in 1981 by William Kimpton and current CEO Mike DeFrino in San Francisco, California. The company is currently worth a billion dollars and is one of the United States largest boutique hotel groups, Kimpton is currently under the InterContinental Hotel Group.
The company is ranked 8th by FORTUNE magazine in top diverse companies to work for and ranked 3rd in Chicago for top companies to work for. The diversity of the company is clearly seen in their upper management statistics. Women comprise 36% of their executives, 43% mid-level managers and 53% of their frontline managers or supervisors. Minorities make up for 16% of executives, 32% of mid-level managers and 39% of their frontline managers or supervisors. Kimpton's workforce is made up of 60% minorities and 47% female.
