Harding, Coolidge and Hoover all were putting in their best efforts to make the country better. Each of them had a different way of going about helping the country. For example, Harding supported baby-care centers while Hoover supported more ecological friendly thing. Neither are right or wrong, different presidents have different things they want to improve on. Warren Harding was president from 1921-1923. His term ended early when he died while all vacation. Before being president he was a Senator in Ohio. When Harding was elected he has Herbert Hoover in his cabinet and Calvin Coolidge as his Vice President. Some of Harding’s decisions as to who to appoint in the government with him did not please the people of the United States. Harding supported the Sheppard-Town Act. This act, “funded prenatal and baby-care centers staffed by public health nurses” (661). Coolidge was very old fashion and was careful when making decisions. Coolidge gained a lot of support from the public due to magazine articles and advertisements. Coolidge did not believe in giving much government assistance to anyone struggling. This lead to the McNary-Haugen Bill. This stated that the government had to purchase a surplus of crops and the sell the crops overseas. Coolidge vetoed this and did not agree with the bill. Coolidge believed that people should not have much assistance from the government and should be hard working. Coolidge and Harding both agreed on one thing. The did not think it was best for the United States to become part of the League of Nations. Coolidge did however believe that the United States should join the International Court of Justice. The congress did not agree with this and therefore the United States stayed out of the International Court of
