What would you do with three wishes? In the story, The Third Wish, wishes for a wife and her happiness are made by Mr. Peters. In The Monkey’s Paw, they are used by Mr. White for wealth, resurrection, and death. Despite having similar ideas, there are many differences between the resolutions of both stories. While The Third Wish The first major difference between the resolutions of The Third Wish and The Monkey’s Paw, are the overall mood. In The Third Wish, the story ends happily and peacefully with the man living out the rest of his life with his wife and her sister, who are swans.
