When we entered the harbor we didn’t know what to expect. As we sailed in between the two steep cliffs to enter the harbor I had a sinking feeling in my stomach, I didn’t think much about and blamed it on the wine I had drunk earlier. As we went on shore i couldn’t help feeling a little disappointed, Odysseus had promised us that there would be a feast when we got here. As I took in my surroundings, I noticed a pathway leading into the hills. I pointed it out to Odysseus and commented that we should follow it to try and find a city. He agreed but when he called a meeting he presented it as his idea and claimed he had seen the path first! I couldn’t believe it but I let it go when he said that I would lead the group inland to follow the trail. I was really excited, Odysseus rarely picked me to do even the simplest of jobs and never picked me for anything actually important. However, we had yet to see a single person and come to think of it we hadn’t seen any animals and I hadn’t heard any birds since we’ve been here. I shook off the feeling and leapt back into my new role of leading this expedition, grinning like a fool and still screaming for joy. On the inside of course, on the outside I was a collected and calm, leading men to explore the unknown.
