I am going to mention about Flannery O’ Connor’s two stories in my essay. One of them is ‘’The Life save may be your own’’ and the other is ‘’ A good Man is Hard to Find’’. "The Life You Save May Be Your Own" was first published in the Kenyon Review in the spring of 1953. "A Good Man Is Hard to find" was adapted for film in 1992 by Jeri Cain Rossi.. The story was also adapted as a modern chamber opera by David Volk at the University of Georgia in 2003. I am going to talk about Flannery O’ Connor’s’ stories’ summary and my opinions about that. Firstly I am starting with summary of O’ Connor’s ‘’The Life Save may be your own’’. The story is about a man, named Tom Shiftlet, who comes across a farm where an elderly women, Mrs. Crater, and her deaf 30-year old daughter, Lucynell live. Tom Shiftlet is 28 years old and is in dire need of food and a place to stay. He happens to have only one of his arms. During the course of Mrs. Crater’s and Tom’s conversation she offers to let him work around farm in exchange for food and shelter. Mrs. Crater desperately wants Shiftlet to take her daughter’s hand in marriage. Although he refused to marry her at first he finally lied the knot with Lucynell. They drive to their honeymoon in the 1929 Ford car that he bad fixed around the farm. They stop at a dinner where Shiftlet abandons his new wife. He tells the waiter that she is merely a hitchhiker. When Shiftlet is about to leave the dinner, the waiter tells him to ‘’Drive Carefully’’ because
