Kevin DeYoung’s book, “Just Do Something”, lays out such a refreshing and straightforward way of thinking about the directional will of God in a Christian’s life. He makes the clear distinctions between God’s will of decree, God’s will of desire, and God’s will of direction, which is the main focus of his book. A large theme in his biblical argument to finding God’s will for your life is to basically walk in the Spirit and live in union with Christ; letting Christ live in you (Gal. 2:20) and living in Christ (Col. 3:3; Phil. 1:21), and then just make decisions and live your life to and for the glory of God (1 Cor. 10:31; Col. 3:17). He uncomplicates the mystery of “finding God’s will”, and simplifies this notion by more or less highlighting that believers have the mind of Christ (1 Cor. 2:16) and are new creations in Christ (2 Cor. 5:21), so we ought to just make choices and glorify God in those choices without “hyper-spiritualizing” things. …show more content…

Faulty concepts of God’s will flood the Christian world and thought, and Kevin does a fantastic job at exposing these deficient ideas in a humble and honest way. He has no problem speaking truth, and he does so in such a convicting way because he is not coming up with his own ideas, but standing on and teaching with the authority of the Word of God. This little book is saturated with Scripture and is focused on his main point without rambling on. By far, this is the best book I have read on finding God’s will, and I would aptly recommend it to any Christian who is wondering about the will of God in their
