1. Intro For my novel project I chose the book “Feed” by M.T. Anderson, it was published in 2002. Feed is based in a futuristic society that is years ahead of us with inter planetary space travel, and advanced electronic implants. It is a love story between Titus and Violet, they figure out secrets about the feed as her feed kills her. This novel is in first-person setting and Titus is and average chad who strives to be sociable at times, friendly but most of all he tries to find out who he really is. Titus and Violet figures out that the feed may not be the best invention for the human race. Once the feed is in you it basically controls you. If it malfunctions you malfunction.

I agree with this summary of the book, it describes an overall plot and action to what happened and how. It does not explain just how close violet got with Titus or how they felt about each other and connected through their wild lives. Although it is the best article about the book out there, there is still some important parts that were left out and forgotten about and some parts that were not needed to convey the overall theme and point
3. Style
M.T. Anderson is a very well-known and successful writer. He has a particular style in his books. In his book “feed” on pages 110-111, there is perfect example of his style of writing. He not only changed present day slang words but made up new slang for his book like: omigod, da da da (used to mock people). This even goes further into their dialect, the average kinds of dialect like saying unit. (Kind of like how this generation dabs and says lit). They purposely make their feeds malfunction, curse, and have an own dialect. 1.

Although some of the other themes may be better, I think that the best theme that pertains to this essay is the concept of power. There are corporations in the book feed that control the civilians feed. The feed implants is a very advanced and helpful device implanted into the people’s brain at birth. Seventy-three percent of the American people have the feed. These corporations that own the feeds are constantly filling the consumers’ minds with ads for clothing and other products that you may want based on mind reading, then they gather the data that the feed receives from watching your every move since birth. These big corporations make products based on what the people want and they will always know exactly what you want and need. They have direct access to your feed and your life. These corporations are also the downfall of America; the industries are pollution the earth to a uninhabitable waste land. Page 241 “have you heard about this Central American stuff? Two villages on the Gulf of Mexico, fifteen hundred people, they have just been found dead, covered in this black stuff”. “This is big. It seems like the global alliance is blaming the U.S.”. Page 273 “Do you know the earth is almost dead? Almost nothing lives here anymore except where we plant it? No, no, no. we don’t know any of that. We just have tea parties with our teddies. We go sledding.” The corporations have been able to grow to immense size the United States
