Middle Ages (500 A.D. - 1400 A.D.)
Some countries were better than others in controlling their country and people. The middle ages was known as the Dark Ages, but developed a new culture of art. There was a lot that occurred during the middle Ages, plague, and war. People had to follow the church religion or they would have to die. During this time art was much glided, texts were extremely decorated, and religious figures were always depicted with gold halos. Many Cathedrals around the world were built during this period of time with extremely limited tools, and working environments. The Gregorian chant was created during this time. It took place throughout the night and day, and was very diverse in modern style. Monks provided free education through the church, they also brought in the tired and hungry and provided health care. Hildegard of Binge was 8 years old she was consecrated to the church. She was well known for the 26 lessons on science and healing off her visions.

A culture rebirth of science, math, philosophy, literature and art was spreader throughout all of Europe. Accepted to have started in Florence, Italy the period was highly influenced by Greece. Major cities during this time were Venice, Genoa, Milan, Bologna, and Rome. Knights lost power of things such as gun powder, long bows, and the church also lost authority over people. The Renaissance had three social classes. 1. Government 2. Citizens 3. Poor. Your class was based on your job, money, and if you had government power, it also determined the food and fashion available to you during this time.
