Who am I? Why am I here? What is MY mission on earth? These questions have all appeared in our minds from time to time. Each and every one of us has been brought into this world for a reason. Although most of us do not know what this reason may be, we have the power to choose our paths in life. We decide the type of person we want to be by choosing our own values, goals and mission in life. “Every test in our lives makes us bitter, or better. Every problem comes to break us, or make us. The choice is ours whether we become victim, or victor.” This quote resonates within me daily as I value perseverance and determination. Jesse Jackson teaches us to “never look down on someone unless you’re helping them up”. The way you treat other people says a lot about the person you are. I believe that kindness is one of the most important qualities to possess. I want this quality to be a part of what defines me and although I believe I possess it to a certain extent, in my opinion, a person can never be too kind. I am aspiring to be a Paediatric Occupational Therapist as I want to help improve a child’s quality of life by making tasks easier for them. In order to work with children you need to be very patient, sympathetic and passionate. I have been working on my patience and I believe that is has improved tremendously. I have a lot of faith in people and although this may seem like a positive characteristic, it can also be to my detriment. I have trusted people to always be there for me like I was for them. I believed that they cared about me and would never hurt me. I truly cared for them but I landed up having my heart broken. They lied to my face when I found out they had been unfaithful which caused me to start doubting the other people I trusted. Trust is something that needs to be earned and I believe people need to work hard to earn it. I am determined to be like this person and instead be a trustworthy and dependable person. I will do this by always being there for my friends and anyone else who may need me. I will remain loyal to them and not gossip about them. I will always help them to the best of my
