When the prince arrives at Cinderellas’ house the step sisters both try to convince the Prince the shoes belongs to each of them; one sister cuts off her toes to make her foot fit and the other cuts off her heel to fit into the gold slipper. The prince believes both sisters at first until the help of the Cinderellas’ birds, the prince realizes what they have done and the shoe does not belong to them. The birds sing “Back again! Back again! For she is not the true one that sits by thy side”.

In order to comprehend how the slipper illustrates the lack of integrity in society’s morals, the influence it has on the populace needs to be considered. All three interpretations of Cinderella paints a picture of a materialistic world obsessed with wealth and status. Each variation, however, emphasizes different levels from the actions of an individual to the movement of an entire kingdom. Cinderella being a maid act as a metaphor of devastating period of war where the transformation of receiving a better life is possible for everyone. Instead of just having birds help Cinderella, she has mice as well. Her little animal friends help her create a dress for the ball. When Cinderellas step sisters see the dress, they tear it apart. After the step mom and sisters leave for the ball, Cinderella discovers that she has a fairy godmother. Her fairy godmother provides her with glass slippers, a new dress, and a pumpkin carriage.
Cinderella asks her father to bring her as a gift a branch that will first hit his hat, plant a branch on her mother's grave, a tree grows, and a white bird living in its branches fulfills Cinderella's requests.
