Social Stratification is a system by which society ranks categories of people in a hierarchy. In other words people are ranked according to their wealth or prestige. Social Stratification has beneficial consequences for the operation of a society. That’s why we have a certain form of social stratification in every society. The jobs in modern societies vary in form of importance, prestige and wage. Some jobs are fairly easy and can be performed by almost anyone. Other jobs are very difficult and demand a very high level of expertise that’s why a few minority can perform them. Myths are not superstitions or misunderstandings of reality. Myths are a cultural expression of a social value. We value private property, stealing is wrong, therefore you will be punished. Retelling the myths makes people more belong to a group of society or religion. After hearing the stories over and over it makes people think that there is truth to it. I see it as science answers questions religion/myth cannot and myth answers questions that science cannot.
