Shaken Baby Syndrome usually occurs when parents or caregivers severely shake a baby because of frustration or anger toward the baby because he/she won’t stop crying. Babies have weak head muscles to support their head, they usually struggle to support their head since it is heavy. If a baby is forcefully shaken, his or her delicate brain moves back and forth inside the skull. Causing bruising, swelling and bleeding. Shaken Baby Syndrome does not occur from gently bouncing the baby, playfully swinging or tossing the baby in the air, or jogging with the baby.
