The first example is Mildred she is a character who doesn’t know anything but isn’t happy, When Montag comes in her room, “…sleeping tablets which earlier today had been filled with thirty capsules and which now lay uncapped and empty…”(Bradbury 10) This shows that Mildred isn’t happy and tries to commit suicide even though she doesn’t know anything. Another example is Montag. Montag in the beginning book is ignorant is can be seen he isn’t happy. An example of how he isn’t happy is after talked with Clarisse he says, “ Of course I’m happy.
In “Pet” Akwaeke Emezi highlights the situation and develops the problem of monsters being in the shadow of Lucille in a slow manner of sequences and characters, explaining the nature of Lucille and the people in it. One way in which Emezi builds this is by introducing Lucille as a safe city. The angels serve justice, by sending away the monsters. The book says “There shouldn’t be any monsters left in Lucille.”

In the novel, Fools Crow, written by James Welch, the act of revenge is shown numerous times and is an underlying theme throughout. These acts of revenge reflect the Blackfeet way of life. Yellow Kidney, Owl Child, and the rest of the tribe all show signs of revenge and each express it in their own way. This is especially prevalent with Yellow Kidney and Owl Child as they seem to be constantly seeking revenge of some sort. Yellow Kidney wanted revenge on Fast Horse throughout the novel.
“In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.” Anne grew up in one of the most harrowing times in history. Anne Frank was an inspiring human being. Anne has delivered multiple quotes, these quotes could be titled as brave, whimsical, or indifferent. Nevertheless, by far these are some of the most inspiring words that I have ever heard.
A breeze picks up as Santiago asks the wind for help. The wind argues that Santiago differs too much from it but Santiago contends that he desires to reach all corners of the world just like the wind. The wind understands but doesn’t know what to do. Santiago tells the wind that love can empower it to do anything. The wind feels like Santiago demeans what it already knows how to do.
Throughout the novel, the submission by Amy Waldman, many characters act on stereotypes on the misconceptions about faith, causing Mo and Asma to negotiate their identity. Mohammad Khan, Mo, is a second-generation Muslim. He grew up only knowing America. His Islamic heritage is always being questioned. For example in chapter 23, when Alyssa Spier, a reporter for the New York Post, stated “by entering the competition, […] it offended so many Americans,” (294) which he flat out responded with, “I am an American.”
‘’ That god damn old he can't hardly walk stinks like hell to ever time he comes into the book house i can smell him for two there days ‘’ (Steinbeck 36)`The novel Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck is about two guys that are trying to find a job and once they get that job they are saving it to get like a barn and land. One of the characters is Carlson; he shoots Candy’s dog because he was smelling stinky. Shooting Candy’s dog was good because he was old and I don't think Candy was taking care of it. For example, “cause he stinks and he is very old so to me it doesn't matter an he can hardly walk so to me a dog doesn't even supposed to be in the house (P. 36 ) This quote shows if he was taking care of his dog this would have

To Kill A Mockingbird To Kill A Mockingbird is about a lawyer named Atticus who chooses to defend a African-American man named Tom just as equally as he would defend a white man in a court room. This novel takes place in the 1930's when there was racism going on between blacks and whites. Atticus is a person in the novel who choose to learn to understand others. By showing that he does this, his quote said “ You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view- until you climb into his skin and walk around in it.” In this novel there are a couple of people who have trouble understanding people, not understanding people, and doing a little bit of both.
“Eat my shit.” This quote is an example of revenge that may have gone a little too far.. Revenge is a common theme in The Help with many main characteristics partaking in getting revenge. Even helping Skeeter write The Help was an act of revenge by the maids against the wives of Jackson who mistreated them. Most people seek revenge for closure against someone who committed a wrong, but in reality revenge usually just adds to the bitterness between two people.
Your True Roots Through out the novel Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng, one can see how the character James and the Lee family are haunted because of their place of origin.
“At first they played together. A whole month and Denver loved it. From the night they ice-skated under a star-loaded sky and drank sweet milk by the stove, to the string puzzles Sethe did for them in afternoon light, and shadow pictures in the gloaming. In the very teeth of winter and Sethe, her eyes fever bright, was plotting a garden of vegetables and flowers-talking, talking about what colors to would have. She played with Beloved’s hair, braiding, puffing, tying oiling it until it made Denver nervous to watch her.
In Harper Lee’s ‘To Kill a Mockingbird’, the mad dog is used as a reflection of many different struggles faced by specific characters as well as society as a whole. Foremost, the dog represents everything Atticus is facing in the novel. He has internal struggles, like many main characters, such as having to choose between right and wrong as well as fighting more physical things such as the jury. This leads into the next point: the dog represents discrimination and hatred itself in the novel.
In the book, “The Lady or The Tiger” by frank Stockton, one of the main characters, the princess, is jealous when she points to the door with the tiger behind it. The author says, “And with all the intercity of the lines of completely barbaric ancestors, she hated the woman that blushed and trembled behind the door.” This quote shows, that she has a very strong hatred for this woman. She would choose for the tiger to be behind the door, because she would want to speak revenge on this woman to get her badly injured.
