After three long years away from his family overseas, John White returned to the Roanoke colony only to discover a site that would raise questions for the next hundreds of years. Carved into a nearby tree of the Roanoke colony, the words “Croatoan” and “Cro” were the last shrew of evidence remaining of the Roanoke colony. The word “Croatoan” remains a mystery amongst scientists and archeologists today. The lost colony of Roanoke has developed many ideas and questions of the settlers’ location. Theories have developed over time but little facts are known about the disappearance of Roanoke’s settlers.

They had their own way of cooking the animals they caught, the food they gathered, and of building their shelters . The Shoshone wore different clothing depending on weather and the season to protect them from the elements. Different parts of the tribe hunted different animals and gathered different foods. They even lived different lifestyles.

Crazy Horse I would like to meet Crazy Horse because he was Native American and I am Native American. He was also a great warrior and leader of the Lakota Sioux. Crazy Horse fought along Sitting Bull and other American Indian wars. Crazy Horse was an instrument in defeating George Custer.

This concept can be visualized by the relationship pertaining to that of White Settlers and Native Americans during the late 1700s and through to the late 1800s. Cultural influence in regards to the white settlers can bring many gains and opportunities stemming from the political rivalries, the interaction between beliefs, and how individuals viewed one another in general. The culture of the Natives was ultimately altered due to the arrival of these pioneers because of the gradual integration of white values and practices into their society.
Native American Research: Chief Pontiac Intro Chief Pontiac is a Native American that is important to the United States’ history. He was a part of the Ottawa tribe and led the American Indians to a revolution also known as the Pontiac War or Pontiac’s Rebellion, which was against the British when they first came to America. He wasn’t afraid to die for his rights. He believed that they all had rights to live in America and to live how they wanted to live. I chose him for my Native American Research because he was a courageous Native American hero.
The cherokee tribe is a big nation with many ancestors who have known their culture and legends for decades. Who they also have been passing on their cultures and myths. The Cherokee tribe have many cultures. They have six traditional festivals throughout the year.
American Indian Center Jim Knutson-Kolodzne is an Anishannabe and was raised W.G.C. in Jefferson, Wisconsin. He is an enrolled member of the Little River Band of Ottawa Indians, director of the American Indian Center at St. Cloud State University and he also teaches psychology of racism classes. He talked about American Indians in Minnesota and how there are 864 American Indian tribes and it is impossible for someone to know everything about every tribe. In the early 1990’s St. Cloud State University community members became concerned about “meeting the unique needs of the American Indian students attending St. Cloud State University.
One of the biggest and most powerful tribes in South Carolina was the Cherokee tribe. The were also known as the “real people”. THe Cherokee tribe was huge. Just one village could have over 600 people in it, and most of their villages were lined with a thing called palisade surrounding it for protection. Their leaders could be made up of men and women, and either gender could own land.
Native American Apache Tribe One’s culture, beliefs, traditions, food, dances, and many other things make people who they are. Everyone is different and believes in different things which make them unique. People’s actions and beliefs are different and have their own special characteristics in life that make them different from everyone else. There is one special culture that really grabs my attention because of how different and unique they are.
“Though they are territorial animals, howler monkeys do not tend to engage in overt conflict with nearby troops and in some cases may share an overlapping territory” (Shah). Most of their movement includes them moving from one branch to the other. The reason why they climb fast from one tree to another is by the help of their tails. Howler monkeys have prehensile tails, or tails that can grip onto anything. According to National Zoo, ”Males measure 24 to 26 inches (60 to 65 centimeters) long with a 24 to 26 inch tail (60 to 65 centimeters).”
