Lord Of the Flies is a book that represents all the elements needed to show all the different personalities people can face over time. William Golding did and amazing demonstration of Sigmund Freud’s work/ideas. Freud worked with the concept of unconsciousness and conscience of the mind which explain the impacts of behaviors on people. ID personality is the gratification of basic physical need and urges that some humans might have. This behavior is entirely unconsciously, which means that these people don’t care or have any interest about others than themselves.(structure of the mind) Jack from Lord Of the Flies, was a good example of ID. He was eager to have control of all the other kids; His savagery became too severe that it lead him to very bad thing: He becomes obsessed with haunting, not for survival but for the urge of killing; Paints his face, and plays games that are harmful, he only sees it as a way to act savage(two-face); Manipulates/scares the “litteuns” to join his troop; and he lights up the island just for his needs to capture Ralph.(book)

In Lord of the Flies,Ralph is the one that represents the ego human personality. Throughout the book he struggled to comprehend his personality with superego and Id. In the beginning of the book Ralph made fun of piggy for his nickname he seemed a little savage at the moment. Ralph started haunting with jack and mentioned how he enjoyed the haunt; but then later on when Jack killed Simon in the horrible game they created for fun, Ralph realized how dangerous and uncivilized they had
