I think that the most American writer of the American Renaissance is Abraham Lincoln. Lincoln to me is the most American because throughout his entire career, he helped people become free. To be an American is to be free and Lincoln has done that by issuing the Emancipation Proclamation while he was the sixteenth president, which freed every slave and allowed America to be completely free. Lincoln as a lawyer helped many people he was well known for being smart, but a hard worker, Lincoln once acquitted a man of murder because he used an almanac of moon phases and proved that it could not have been his client that was seen because nobody could have been seen on that night. Lincoln was your typical American he grew up a poor Christian whose family went through a rough patch, but Lincoln came out of it with a drive a willingness to learn. There are even stories that he would walk miles to borrow a book.

Lincoln wrote all of his inaugural addresses and each one was a literary work of art. Lincoln was an amazing writer, he took great pride in knowledge and this led many people vote for him. Lincoln was a very hard worker noted for his skills with an axe. Lincoln to me is the most American writer of the Renaissance, he was one of America's greatest Presidents he is the embodiment of what it means to be an American. Lincoln started from what was the bottom and climbed to the top he became one of the best writers and people of his time. America would not be what it is today if Lincoln hadn't become the President and freed the slaves. Lincoln is undoubtedly the greatest American from the Renaissance and through his literature became the greatest President of the United
