George Washington and Thomas Jefferson were great presidents but i believe that Abraham Lincoln was far better. He abolished slavery and held the country together during one of it's hardest times and doing all this with the pressure of an entire country relying on him. But it would have been better if he wasn't killed during his term I beleive that if he wouldn't have died America would be doing a lot better then it is now Lincoln would have been an amazing president if he didn't die he probably would have served another term or two. Even though everyone loved George Washington, Lincoln was also very popular among the people he also had the potential to make America a way better place.
William H. Taft was one of the best presidents because of his great leadership towards developing America. He served as the 27th president of the United States from 1909 to 1913 and as the tenth Chief of Justice as well. Taft was the best president because he created jobs for millions of people with the start of the railroads. To bring the country back as one he; fought Confederate states, freed the slaves, and wrote the Emancipation Proclamation. The Emancipation Proclamation is a letter that Abraham Lincoln wrote on January 1, 1863. The letter says that every single slave in the United States should be led free.
Our nation has had many great leaders and presidents. Many people could argue for hours over who was the best president and why. For me, the top three presidents were Abraham Lincoln, George Washington, and Thomas Jefferson. They were each great for many different reasons and without them our nation wouldnt be the way it is today but personally, i think George Washington was the best and most influlential president. In America we have had many presidents, they have done their job to get America this far. I would have to say that president Ronald Reagan would be my choice in who I think was the best President. I know I wasn 't alive when he was president but if I could I would like to live that time period. President Ronald Reagan was the 40th president. When I was informed that I would be writing an essay on the best president in US history, one man immediately came to mind. That man was the twenty-sixth president of the United States, President Theodore Roosevelt. With his major accomplishments in foreign policy, and his work in protecting the environment, that easily qualifies him as the best president. Although some of his accomplishments might not be well known, such as his founding of the National Park Service and the US Forest Service, some of his other accomplishments might be more well known such as the creation of the Panama Canal. Also, he was the youngest president ever to enter office at the age of 42 when his predecessor, President McKinley sadly got assassinated.

The best US President, in my eyes, was George Washington. He was a strong character who had to overcome many things in his life. One of the greatest things he had to overcome was unknown to many people.
