For example, a tragedy leaves the readers feeling empty and feel like the story should be continued. A tragedy has a character who is suffering, and they do not get a happy ending. A tragedy has a tragic hero. Oedipus becomes the tragic hero in the story, but a tragic hero develops a tragic flaw. Because of their tragic flaw, they have a downfall. In the story Oedipus, his tragic flaw is caused by his pride because he is arrogant, he tries to control his fate, he killed a man, and he disobeyed the gods.
