The trial faced many challenges during the time, it was even considered the “Trial of the Century” because it caused so much controversy. O.J. Simpson not guilty for the murders of Nicole Brown and Ron Goldman, evidence discovered during, and after the trial, proves that there could have been different reasons for his acquittal. An abundant amount of evidence proves that O.J. Simpson should have ultimately been proven guilty for the murders. However, many people overlooked the facts and decided the verdict based on their morals and emotions. Danielle Henderson states through the New York Times “The amount of O.J.’s blood found on the crime scene, on his socks, and in his car should have made the jury’s decision an easy one. Darden’s focus on the violence regularly inflicted upon Nicole and his characterization of the relationship as a “ticking time bomb” make it easy for him to point to O.J. in court and call him a murderer. Clark asks a very subtle but obvious question: Why didn’t O.J. ask how Nicole died when he got the call that she had been murdered?” (Henderson). Marcia Clark and Christopher Darden were apart of the team prosecuting O.J. Simpson. It is stated in this quote that even with all the evidence that came up during the case Darden tried to focus more on the abusive relationship. He already knew that there was a generous amount of evidence proving Simpson guilty. However, he tried to target the information that others may have overlooked. There were many incidents that occurred before the murders that the prosecutors questioned. Before Nicole was murdered she told many friends and therapists that she thought O.J was going to kill her, and five weeks before her death she wrote how her will. This really does pose the question as to why O.J didn't ask how Nicole died when he got the call that she had been murdered. Nicole suffered a very abusive relationship with O.J. because there were many incidents where Nicole had been severely beaten.
