The Holocaust was a time when Jews were treated like animals. Many of them were killed in horrific ways and the Nazis, like Oskar Groening, are to blame. They did it all, too. Even though this tragedy was a long time ago, it can not be forgotten. The Nazis must be put on trial for what they have done. To begin with, Oskar Groening was part of the most Nazi of Nazi groups. Of course, he claims he was just a pawn in their plans and didn't directly kill anyone, so he shouldn't be charged. According to the video, Oskar Groening was called the Bookkeeper Of Death because he collected all the Jewish belongings once they were killed. Although he claims he didn't physically kill anyone, knowing about the murders and saying nothing is a serious crime on its own. Also, I feel he should go to trial for these murders because he did all of this willingly and did not speak out about the murders of millions of Jews. Therefore, I truly believe Oskar Groening knew what he was doing, so he should be prosecuted for what he had done. And him simply being a part of it is enough to put him on trial because, without pawns, the Nazis would fall apart. …show more content…

In the video, it states Oskar joined the Waffen-SS group at 17, which is considered to be the worst of the worst Nazis. This proves that he was old enough to understand how bad this group really was. Also, I believe his sentence should be even harsher because he voluntarily joined the most cruel Nazi group.
