No matter who someone's hero is one thing stays the same. A hero is someone that has strived to help out of their own will. Anyone could be a hero. However not everyone is a hero. Being a hero takes courage.
In my opinion, Dorothea Dix fits my definition of a hero because she not only did something to improve the life of one person, she improved the lives of thousands, without worrying about the consequences of her actions. A hero is a person admired for his qualities or deeds. These individuals have impacted others by performing extraordinary acts. Every hero has left a legacy that has affected many lives in a positive way. When thinking of heroism, Louis Zamperini comes to mind for his courageous and selfless actions.
To be considered a hero a person must do a courageous act or multiple acts for the purpose of helping another. In the story “Anthem” by Ayn Rand our main character, Equality 7-2521 would be considered a hero because of his actions and the journey he goes on. In the story he wants to bring the people his invention the light bulb. Even though they reject it he still takes a huge risk to try and change the city for the better. Another example would be by the end of the book equality has figured out the true evil of the earth and he seeks to bring it down.
To me, a hero is someone who is admirable and does good things but isn't perfect. Ruby Bridges is a hero because she helped desegregate schools so all skin colors can go to any school and receive the same education as white people instead of only getting taught certain things. She managed to do it even when she had almost nobody supporting her and even with multiple people saying bad words and traumatizing her she still managed to carry out her idea and desegregate
Of Mice and Men might be an old story but it stays true to its theme of friendship and conflict. In Of Mice and Men it's really about two men, Lennie and George who are faced with lots of obstacles because of their outside appearances but internally they are very opposite to their body shapes from first glance. Jackie Robinson In my opinion I think a hero is a person that changes lives forever. My hero is Jackie Robinson because he is the first African American baseball player, first African American to win NL MVP, and the first African American to have his number retired. From my research I learned that everything in science did not just come from one person. It takes a ton of people to discover the tiniest of things.
