No matter who someone's hero is one thing stays the same. A hero is someone that has strived to help out of their own will. Anyone could be a hero. However not everyone is a hero. Being a hero takes courage.
In my opinion, Dorothea Dix fits my definition of a hero because she not only did something to improve the life of one person, she improved the lives of thousands, without worrying about the consequences of her actions. That day when she went to teach Sunday school in East Cambridge, she could have done nothing about the terrible conditions that the prisoners had to endure. She could have chosen to ignore them. But instead, she let her courageous and nurturing ways take over, and she campaigned for the rights of those
Sure, I got time The Websters dictionary defines a hero as someone who is admired or idealized for courage, outstanding achievements, or noble qualities. Heroes are ordinary people who find the strength to persevere and endure in spite of overwhelming obstacles. They are the real heroes, and so are the families and friends who have stood by them. Maya Angelou stated, “I think a hero is any person really intent on making this world a better place for all people.”
A hero is a person admired for his qualities or deeds. These individuals have impacted others by performing extraordinary acts. Every hero has left a legacy that has affected many lives in a positive way. When thinking of heroism, Louis Zamperini comes to mind for his courageous and selfless actions.
To be considered a hero a person must do a courageous act or multiple acts for the purpose of helping another. In the story “Anthem” by Ayn Rand our main character, Equality 7-2521 would be considered a hero because of his actions and the journey he goes on. In the story he wants to bring the people his invention the light bulb. Even though they reject it he still takes a huge risk to try and change the city for the better. Another example would be by the end of the book equality has figured out the true evil of the earth and he seeks to bring it down.
To me, a hero is someone who is admirable and does good things but isn't perfect. Ruby Bridges is a hero because she helped desegregate schools so all skin colors can go to any school and receive the same education as white people instead of only getting taught certain things. She managed to do it even when she had almost nobody supporting her and even with multiple people saying bad words and traumatizing her she still managed to carry out her idea and desegregate
Of Mice and Men might be an old story but it stays true to its theme of friendship and conflict. In Of Mice and Men it's really about two men, Lennie and George who are faced with lots of obstacles because of their outside appearances but internally they are very opposite to their body shapes from first glance. Lennies this big tough guy but on the inside he struggles from day to day life because of his mental disability. George is vice versa just because he is small doesn't account to anything George tends to want things his way and has more of a restricted personality but Lennie and George have something in common they both have each others backs like a true friendship. Steinbeck's “ Lennie, who had been watching, imitated George exactly.
Debi Mazar is an actress who stated, “A hero is somebody who is selfless, who is generous in spirit, who just tried to give back as much as possible and help people. A hero to me is someone who saves people and who really, deeply cares.” Heroes are relevant to everyone, because at some point, everyone has had a hero. Sadly, today’s society degrades the meaning of the word “hero”. Heroes are an important aspect of life, but famous people are not always heroes.
Rosa Parks is a hero because she stood up for herself. It was December 1, 1955 that is when Rosa Parks they made her get up from her seat and she refused to get up from her seat. Then the bus driver was going to call the police because Rosa didn’t move so she had to pay a fine of $10 and went to jail. I chose this to be my reason one is because she stood up for herself and refused. This
Should Harriet Tubman be considered a hero? A hero doesn’t have to be someone who flies around using superpowers to defeat villains. Heros are average people who do above average things for others. There are three things that make someone a hero: overcoming challenges, making personal sacrifices, and being a leader in your community. If a hero sees a problem he or she acts upon it, they don’t sit around watching the problem happen.
A person who embodies all the qualities of a hero would be Rosa Parks. She showed courage which led to heroic deeds and became a female role model for all. Rosa Park or “the first lady of civil rights” was an African-American woman who became known as a hero the day of December 1st, 1955 when she refused to give up her seat on a bus to a white man. This started a civil rights movement that would change segregation of black people. Rosa Parks was arrested after she refused to give up her seat, this was all due because of the color of her skin.
Jackie Robinson In my opinion I think a hero is a person that changes lives forever. My hero is Jackie Robinson because he is the first African American baseball player, first African American to win NL MVP, and the first African American to have his number retired. The first reason I think Jackie Robinson is a hero because he was the first African American to play baseball.
No doubt, Harriet Tubman is a hero because she gave, risked, and dedicated her life to make sure others may live. Harriet Tubman taught everyone that you can really make a difference if you
To many, a hero has to be famous, well- known, and rich. However, a hero is a person who stands up for what they believe in. A person that voices what they believe in no matter the consequences or repercussions that may occur, A hero, may be random person that doesn’t want to be looked down upon. It may be a deformed person that doesn’t want something to be just because it always has been . A hero is a person who fights for what’s right.
From my research I learned that everything in science did not just come from one person. It takes a ton of people to discover the tiniest of things. It takes lots of observations, team work, communication, theories, insights, testing, and the list could go on! William Herschel did not just one day see something and start to further explore it. William Herschel was looking at a paper written by someone else and then it was not until later that when hearing others theories that he reversed his original opinion of the essays information and further explored it.
