Ted Dekker's Worldview Worldview means a philosophy of life or conception of the world can be a main factor in an authors books. The Christian Worldview that surrounded Ted Dekker affected how Dekker's books were written. Ted Dekker is an American author of mystery, thriller, and fantasy novels. His works include the Circle Series, A.D. 30, and A.D. 33. Ted Dekker uses his Christian worldview in his books which are shaped by experiences in his life. Firstly, Dekker acquired his worldview from his parents and his environment. Dekker’s worldview was greatly influenced by his parents. Dekker shows Christianity through his books: Black, Red, White, A.D. 30, and A.D. 33 . In,The Circle Series, Dekker shows Christianity throughout Black, Red, and White. In Black,Dekker’s character Thomas Hunter finds about a virus that will kill everyone in the world (The Circle Series). Thomas hunter falls asleep and ends up in a black forest which is under control of Teelah, a black human like bat, who represents Satan (Dekker, Ted The Circle Series). Thomas hunter whenever he sleeps, he dreams about the Colorful forest, which represents the Garden of Eden (The Circle Series). Thomas Hunter was told by Teelah that he would be told how he comes to another world in his dreams, but only if Thomas Hunter makes the first man, Tanis, eat a piece of fruit from the black forest, then Teelah can attack the colored forest (The Circle Series). The roush represent angels and are servants to Elyon and the Shataiki represent the demons and are servants to Teelah and Tanis represents Adam ( The Circle Series). In Red, Thomas is still in the dream world and has not woken up in the real world because he ate a fruit that would not let him dream of the past ( The Circle Series). Scabs, the people who worship Teelah, try to destroy the last inhabitants of the colorful forest (The Circle Series). The Scabs represent the fallen world in Red ( The Circle Series). The Scabs used to be part of the forest but fell away from Elyon (The Circle Series). Justin tries to unite the Scabs and forest people (The Circle Series). Justin does not want the Scabs and the forest people to fight each other he wants to let them be allies not enemies ( The Circle Series). Justin represents Jesus because he unites both scabs and forest people ( The Circle Series). In White Justin's return symbolizes Christ return ( The Circle Series). The love between Thomas and Chelsea symbolizes God's love for humanity (The Circle Series). White talks about the Circle
