They can be poisoned by greedy thoughts, or they can be manipulated or tricked by their own minds into falling apart.

A tragic hero has many flaws some dealing with an insane hubris, greater fate, or even an error in judgement. MacBeth had many flaws in his character, but his biggest hamartia was his arrogant pride as well as his believe in the witches half spoken fate and hidden fears. In Act I during the war with Norway and the Scottish traitors MacBeth was an important character because he ended the war by forcing the Norwegian king into surrendering.

Consumed by his own ambition, Macbeth commits a series of murders to secure his power leading to his own downfall. Although many might think that the witches are the most responsible for Macbeth's downfall, in reality it is Macbeth himself who is most responsible because of his unbridled ambition and willingness to commit atrocious acts in pursuit of power.
Downfall of Macbeth In the story of Macbeth written by William Shakespeare, Macbeth started towards the top, but he had his downfall throughout his time as king. There were three groups of people that were involved in the downfall of Macbeth. The witches were an important group that helped lead to Macbeth’s downfall, Lady Macbeth played another important role, and lastly, Macbeth himself was one of the most important roles in his own downfall.
Being responsible is being the leading cause of something and being able to be blamed or credited for it. A responsible person will have a higher chance of success because they aren’t weighed down by guilt. In William Shakespeare’s drama The Tragedy of Macbeth, three witches tell Macbeth he will be King of Scotland, which prompts him to kill King Duncan and commit other heinous crimes. Some readers believe Macbeth is at fault while others argue Macbeth completely is a victim. Macbeth is responsible because he commits the murders and pays others to do so.
Macbeth is the vehicle that drives the play, Macbeth. Macbeth transformed from the Great Thane of Cawdor and Glamis to not only a murderer of hundreds of innocent people but himself as well. He let himself be persuaded by both Lady Macbeth and the witches, causing him to murder two of his closest friends. Thus, for choosing to murder hundreds of people and allowing himself to be persuaded, Macbeth is to blame for the downfall of the Macbeth’s and the tragic outcome of the play. Most importantly, in the end of it all, Macbeth chose to kill King Duncan, Banquo, and the Macduffs.
Among all those who influenced him, Lady Macbeth was the only one to support him from by his side, killing all doubts of her husband that would prevent their success and potentially prevent Macbeth’s downfall. Before Duncan is killed, Macbeth was doubtful
Lady Macbeth is renowned as one of Shakespeare’s most memorable characters. A fierce and influential woman lead which was not only rare for her time period, but offered a reinvigorating look into Shakespeare story telling style. She consistently manipulates and encourages Macbeth to do the things he otherwise viewed as morally wrong with her persuasive and controlling abilities. She is an expert at pretending and blending in with the crowd. From her power-hungry nature, callous and cunning personality, and her over all psychotic desensitization from reality.

In this essay it will be determined that Macbeth's downfall was the result of his own actions, due to Macbeth's weak moral compass and conscience, Macbeth trying to take things into his own hands, and by letting the witches prophecy consume him. Macbeth is a tragic play by William Shakespeare that shows the corrupting influence of a person because of too much ambition as an honourable Scottish Thane submits to murder and violence to take the throne, which ultimately leads to his own downfall. Lady Macbeth is the embodiment of Macbeth’s hamartia and ultimate downfall because of her ambition to seize power, manipulation and her emotional instability; Macbeth would be a thriving Thane of Glamis and Cawdor if it weren’t for her. All throughout the play, Lady Macbeth proves how her ambition to seize power is responsible for Macbeth’s hamartia and downfall.
It all started when Macbeth received a prophecy from the three witches saying that he would be made Thane of Cawdor and King of Scotland. Later, on he had dinner with King Duncan at his castle and that same night he writes to Lady Macbeth to tell her all that has happened. After telling his wife all that has happened, she tries to persuade him into killing the King. Their plan was to get the guards really drunk so that they blacked out and wouldn’t remember anything and then go in for the kill. While the king is asleep, Macbeth sneaks into the king’s room and stabs him, despite all the blood on the dagger and his hands and all the consequences that would come with it.
Like all of Shakespeare’s other plays, “Macbeth’s” protagonist Macbeth is incredibly successful but suffers from one fatal flaw, his great ambition. His ambition will be the cause of his great success but ultimately also of his downfall. The man’s ambition drives him to seize every opportunity to promote his own agenda. His ambition hurts him the most when he decides to kill King Duncan and Macduff.
The Tragedy of Macbeth- Downfall Throughout the Macbeth play, Macbeth himself is a very dynamic character. Macbeth changes more than any other character in the play. With Macbeth being such a dynamic character, it causes him to have a tremendous downfall as a person. The three main causes of his downfall is his wife’s persuasion to kill the king, trying to cover up his actions, and having people killed just to try to keep his role as the king.
At the beginning of the play “The Tragedy of Macbeth” by William Shakespeare the character Macbeth went from being a brave, and loyal soldier to a heartless and power wanting tyrant who assassinated King Duncan with the help of his forceful wife Lady Macbeth. At the beginning of the play the Weird Sisters gave Macbeth three prophecies; that he would the Thane of Glamis, that he would be Thane of Cawdor, and that he would be King over all. After Macbeth kills King Duncan and everyone catches word that their King is dead people start to wonder about who would do such a thing. Soon after Duncan’s death, his two sons, Malcolm and Donalbain decide to leave Macbeth’s castle as a precaution against their own death, Malcolm ended up fleeing to England and Donalbain ended up fleeing to Ireland. Once Macbeth is crowned King he seizes his power through being violent and committing murder, his life completely darkened with the crime he has committed.
