What does it take to survive a deadly plane crash on a seemingly deserted island? The boys have to fight for survival and remain civilized during their stay at this island. The thought of not being rescued caused conflict within the group of British schoolboys. This conflict led to the murder of the smartest kid in the group. In William Golding’s “Lord of the Flies”, Jack is responsible for Piggy’s death for many reasons: Jack disliked Piggy because he was different, Jack became leader of a new group based solely on his hatred for Piggy, and Jack was jealous of Piggy’s relationship with ralph.
In the Lord of The Flies the boys seem to lose some qualities when they are trying to survive, The main example of this is Jack. The things that i think they lose the most are sympathy, common sense and the ability to think clearly. First, the boys seem to lose their sympathy for other things and for themselves. At this point in the book Jack starts to try to take control over the group of kids, a piece of evidence that shows this would be, Ralph made a step forward and Jack smacked Piggy’s head.
Jack also possessed useful qualities a chief should have that Ralph did not. He was strong willed, determined and would do anything to protect his fellow savages. Despite the fact that people believe Jack is to blame for the demise of the island, the literal beast and Ralph are to blame instead. The literal beast is one of the main causes of the demise of the island because it resulted in the boys becoming fearful and breaking the community into two separate gangs.
In The Lord of The Flies, the island starts out with a sensible leader whose sole goal was to save the boys from getting stranded on the island. It soon changes into a chaotic, unorganized place because of Jack Merridew. His leadership consisted of brutality and provoking fear into the other boys. This may or may not have helped cause the deaths of two boys on the island. It is possible that Jack helped cause the deaths of Piggy and Simon, but in no way is it true that he is the sole cause of their murder, as it is obvious who is.

In the book most of the boys go through a phase that they never went through before, through out the book they're going through a "animal-like" phase that I feel the reader does not expect from them. I decided a decision} to concentrate on Jack because I believe that he was a lot more animal-like then the other boys because of that I think he extremely stands out because of his actions and feelings he made the other boys animal-like. In chapter six and seven of Lord of the Flies by William Golding, Jack is characterized as vicious. For example, after the group finished hunting pigs, they all decided to re-act it as a joke, except with Robert as the fake pig. However, Jack took this too far and he “had [Robert] by the hair and was brandishing his knife” (Golding 114). It starts off as a joke, but instead Robert ends up getting hurt because of Jack’s viciousness. Next, Jack is shown to be vicious during the meeting when Sam and Eric are explaining that they saw the beast.
There could be many reasons why things go downhill and last a short period. This means many things do not last forever because of mishaps, chaos, and big problems. This shows how Lord of the Flies relates to brutality, chaos, and other things. Jack was the main cause of the downfall and demise of the island that the boys were stranded on from a plane crash. To start, Jack was a part of the entire group at the beginning of the story Lord of the Flies, and was a friend to Ralph, the main leader of the boys on the island.
In the novel “Lord of the Flies” by William Golding the ultimate one responsible for the destruction of the island is Jack. In the novel Golding has wrote about how a group of british boys crashed on a plane and landed on a island where there are no adults,just little british boys stranded on a island .In the beginning one of the boys Ralph was the responsible leader where he knew what to do an how to manage. But of course there was this one cureles jealous boy that wanted to be a leader,the one in charge. Because of how ruthless and savage Jack was he took the fear that the boys had within them and used it against them to make them join his tribe which started the destruction of the island.

Jack has the major authority and develops a higher status compared to other characters in the novel. He is a born leader who carries out his concerns over various problems, however the abusive use of power leads him towards the evil path. Golding has effectively used figurative devices such as a beast metaphor, colour symbolism , controlling tone, imagery of Jack’s appearance and environment to demonstrate his desire of power and devolving character.
If an adolescent were to commit a horrendous crime such as murder, should they be convicted as guilty or not? Kids at the age 12 should realize what is right from wrong. They obliviously know that if they were to be in a position where they were killing another human, that is just a murderous crime and should be guilty for their actions. Some people agree that if adolescents were to do something irresponsible and regretful it's because “their brains just haven’t physically matured yet.
Lord of the Flies is a passage into the very existence of humanity. The very last part of the book is full of rage and violence. The violence could be blamed on the lack of vital nutrients the boys where facing but more likely the motives of Jack and his party is related to the emotional impact of their stay on the island. The impact of the island and lack of adults lent to the overall outcome of their stay. Starting out the group of boys were scattered around the island and in tiny huddles of boys.
During a time of war, a british plane carrying a group of schoolboys is shot down over the Pacific, killing all adults and leaving the group of boys stranded on an island. One of the two leaders of the group, Jack, is the perfect character to portray humanity changing from civilized to savage. Jack is power-hungry, violent, and savage. In the beginning of the book, Jack is innocent and carelessly follows the leader, Ralph.

Lastly, Jack is known as the rebel of the story who disagrees with the leaders, and is pure evil from middle to end. Although Jack is evil, his bad character trait ensures his survival and alliance with the boys. The first example of when Jack’s evilness is shown in the story is when Jack hunts the pig and puts its head on a stick, the line says “ Jack held the head up and jammed the soft throat down on the pointed end of the stick which pierced through into the mouth. He stood back and the head hung there, a little blood dribbling down the stick” ( Golding, 150). This shows Jack’s evilness because instead of fearing the beast he is offering him the head of the pig that he just brutally murdered.
Near the end of their time on the island, Piggy, Sam, and Eric are the only ones left with Ralph, and Jack, who appears as “a chief now in truth; and he made stabbing motions with his spear” (Golding 168). Jack starts to get violent, and what was fun when they first got to the island become attempts to kill. At this point, Jack has fully taken over, and the only thing left for him to do is kill Ralph. Lord of the Flies exemplifies how when one person has all of the power, there is always somebody else that wants it more than that person. Ralph is not against Jack, nor does he want to fight with him for the chief position, but ambition and violence overtakes Jack, and he turns into a dangerous savage.
