I acknowledge that the foods we consume contain pesticides. As a Certified Nurse Assistant working in Home Health care environment, the diversity of my clients is enormous. However, when shopping for my clients, most of them usually caution me against buying foods that are not organically grown. I first heard about organically grown foods in December 2013 form one of my clients, Frank Lawry. I do believe that by using DDT, we humans, over stepped our bounds, harming ourselves and the environment in depend on. I was bothered by airplanes spraying DDT without considering its impacts on human health and wildlife. Animals were dying because of the overuse of pesticides. Like Carson, I am not against pesticides, but rather, I am concerned about its overuse and misuse. During those days when the use of DDT was out of control, people did only use excessive amount on pests, but also on children to kill lead lice, an inconvenience that cannot be compared with its impact on human
