There are major and minor political parties, as well as regional political parties, historical parties, non- electoral organizations, and who knows how many more. With so many to choose from, most of which I have never heard of, I will choose three that sound remotely interesting.

Our political system is comprised of a two party system that has existed since our country's inception. While the Democrats and Republicans are the dominant parties, there are third-parties such as the Libertarians, the Tea Party, the Green Party and many others. While they are small and a third party candidate has never won a presidential election, they can have a significant effect on the outcome. Such examples include the Elections of 1912 and 1992, two years in which the election was changed by the actions of a third party candidate. This also applies to our current presidential election in which one of the Republican frontrunners, Donald Trump, has vowed to run as a third party candidate if he feels mistreated.
In fact, the Framers wanted to avoid political parties because the Constitution promotes unity while political parties promotes individual self-interests over what’s good for the country, but “free association, after all, meant that like-minded individuals could interact with one another,” (Fine & Levin-Waldman, 2016, Chapter 9, “What is a Political Party and What is its Purpose,” para. 1). Political parties play a huge role in America’s democracy because they get people out to vote and they organize the government. The purpose of a political party is to take positions on current issues by nominating the best candidates to represent what the party stands for. Democrats and Republicans are the two main parties that represent most of the citizens. Once a candidate takes office, they carry out and act on the solutions for the current public issues that the party believes in.
Political parties, Democratic Republicans and Federalists, started in the U.S. because of differing views of Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson, and the influence of newspapers. Jefferson’s and Hamilton’s different ways of thinking(mostly on issues that was beneficial for the country) played a huge part in the start of political parties. They fought about economy. Jefferson liked farming while Hamilton preferred manufacturing and trade. Interpretation of the Constitution was another thing they fought upon.
In George Washington’s Farewell Address, he highly discouraged the creation of political parties. They would divide America, and ultimately bring the country to collapse. But since before its creation, America has always found a way to categorize people into groups; whether they be Patriots or Loyalists, Federalists or Anti-federalists, ect. Though Washington was probably right to warn America, political parties are almost unavoidable. Ratified in 1781, the Articles of Confederation sparked the creation of political parties.
Party system refers to the way parties are organized, the balance of powers between and within the parties, and the issues or ideas which the parties are organized around. The Federalist and Jeffersonian Republicans were the first party system to immerge in the seventeen nineties. The federalist focused on the concerns of New England merchants. The wanted to rebuild a relationship with Britain, assumption of debt from the revolutionary war, and programs with encouraged manufacturing. The Jeffersonian republics were run with southern agriculture in mind.

There is no real need for these parties. Most people would not agree with all of one party's ideas. Each issue will cause much more than two opinions, which is why parties are not needed. “Political parties” did not begin until the late 1600s, yet It all really began in 1787, when the so called “political parties” started calling themselves Federalists. This was when the first political party started in the United States. In 1796, everything got bigger and more productive. That’s when everyone gathered around Jefferson, those members called themselves Democratic-Republicans. A political party is a gathering of individuals who meet up to contest elections and hold control in the government.
A political party is an alliance of like-minded individuals who work together in an effort to win elections and control the government in their favor. They compete against each other for political power and the ability to put their ideologies into affect. There are two major parties in the United States, the Democrats and the Republicans. Their philosophies and political platforms are very different. Democrats believe in a strong federal government that has an active role in citizens lives while republicans believe in a small government that should have little to no role.
Samuel Barber was an American composer born in West Chester, Pennsylvania in 1910. He wrote his most recognizable piece of music Adagio for Strings when he was just 27 years old. During his lifetime he went on to win two Pulitzer Prizes for the musical work he composed during his final three decades. His Adagio for Strings had become one of the most beautiful and well-known works in the modern classical music canon and made its world premiere on November 5, 1938 on the radio. Italian conductor Toscanini stated that the music was simple and beautiful.
Political parties serve countless roles in America’s government. Foremost, it needs to be said they are crucial to America’s political system. The political parties are the heart and brain of our government's body, urging people to conceive and feel different ways on different topics whether the controversy is over how money is distributed or the way immigrants should be treated or dealt with. With each party having a biased view it shows how a group can be increasingly powerful with bountiful amounts of support, names and divisions can be heard. Democrats are widely known to be liberal rather than conservative.
Political parties are politically recognized organizations of citizens who form to defend their interests. Having a political system that allows the freedom to form a new political parties or to declare membership in already existing ones, promotes democracy. As such, political parties are an indispensable part of the democratic process. However, there are also negative consequences to having political parties. Political parties saw their origins in the 17th and 18th centuries in the UK, evolving from previous political organizations called factions.
