Maj. Chris Faris talked about was the affect that war had on his and his daughter’s relationship. The talk he had with his daughter allowed him to see the pain and hurt that comes from him being away at performing his military duty. His daughter, now 118 years old, reminded him of the last time he was home for her birthday, which at that time she was 10 years old. Each time he was only home for 2 months at a time; this made it difficult for him to have a positive relationship with his wife and children.
The short story “Soldier’s Home” made me think about all the soldiers who miss home or have no family to recognize them in their glory in which what they’re doing for our nation. This shows how all of the men and women miss
Zach’s Reflection Freedom is something we often take for granted and do not realize how much it can impact our life. But how did we earn that freedom and how do we keep that freedom that we so often enjoy without thinking about it? It is because of the brave men and women who are willing to sacrifice everything including their lives to defend our rights and Country. How do these brave men and women get treated after serving our Country is an important issue, which is where originations like the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), Disabled American Veterans (DAV), and Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) come in to help.
She came to the conclusion that they are often left alone to cope. There are were over 100 siblings and spouses who went to a convention for those who had lost a loved one in the military. “It is hard because they feel as if they need to fit into the shoes of their siblings that are gone to make sure the family stays connected” (Hefling). As difficult as it is for spouses to lose their loved ones, she found that it is even harder for the siblings. This is because they have lost someone that they have had their whole lives, and you expect them to be in your life
Being an american in the 1800’s means having tremendous pride in one’s country. In this manuscript there will be information on early American art, early American music, and early American literature all this stuff that made an American an American. Most Americans somehow participated in the arts from painting and drawing to dance and music to literature and even american music. So what did it mean to be an american in the 1800’s? Early American art brought European art traditions into the American colonies.
The mixing pot America is made up of many different types of people from racist to sexual orientation but why does this matter it shouldn't matter because in the world we live in today there are much bigger task at hand then to debate over women in the workplace where same-sex marriage. a person's a person no matter how small dr. Seuss. this quote is powerful and today's growing society because it shows that everyone is the same and there shouldn't be a difference. division for America should be for our country to come together as one soul body
What it means to be an American is that you have the freedom to vote freedom of speech. You have the liberty to be what you want in America no one chooses for you. Also have the liberty to work wherever you want not be someone 's slave. Being American means you don 't have to hide your religion, the color of your skin or your sex. You have the ability to speak what you want.
The highlight of being american is freedom, as an american we have have the rights to be or to do what we want. We can choose what school or what college we want to go and also we can choose a major for us to make a living. Being American gave us freedom of speech, the chance to vote, also the country would help you out if you need money, health insurance, and welfare. The amazing thing about being american is that we have a great army that fight day and night to keep the american people safe and sound.
If you are a soldier than your first priority is your job not your family. I feel sorry for the mom because she had to stay away from her daughter since she was a soldier and have to protect her country and all of us but I am really sad
We don 't typically stop to think about our freedom, it is something most of us are guilty of taking for granted. Even when our freedom is brought to our attention, it is only a brief thought quickly pushed to the back of our minds. Most of us are too focused on our own hardships and shortcomings. However, there are a select few who have come to the realization that this freedom is a highly valued prize. These are the people that fight our battles for us because they value the safe haven that our country is.
Being an American can mean many different things all depending on the different perspectives of different ethnic or religious groups. So what does being an American mean to me? Being an American to means that everyone can live a happy stress free life where they don’t have to worry about being discriminated against or feeling like they don’t have equal rights. To start with, being an American can range in definition depending on a person 's perspective of America. Personally, I would say being an American is when you can live a happy life where you don 't have to worry about being treated differently because of the color of your skin.
What does it meant to be american? In america we might have conflicts like diversity, political problems, and more. America also has some amazing aspects to it we have freedom. With us having freedom that means that we can believe in any religion, have freedom of speech, and much more. In america we have a great military, army, and marines.
When you ask a non American “What does America mean to you?” , they will more often than not answer with hamburgers, obesity, NFL and Reality TV. That is okay because who doesn 't love hamburgers and football filled Sundays, who doesn 't love watching silly reality TV shows and who doesn 't love a cheat day every once in awhile? Those people are judging a book by its cover and fortunately for me… well my thoughts about America are quite different. When an individual asks me “What does America mean to you?”
American soldiers fought to preserve freedom in Europe, one hundred sixteen thousand five hundred and sixteen Americans died in that war alone. (31) In World War II, two hundred ninety two thousand, one hundred and thirty one soldiers died to keep Europe, and Pacific Ocean countries out of the control of dictators. (26) I think freedom means trying to live the way that the millions of soldiers, militiamen, and draftees who have died would want us to: peacefully, harmoniously, but not without some of the hardships of life which make us who we are.
Soldiers train rigorously, preparing for the departure of war. They sacrifice all that they have to fight for their country. As they return after the war, they are left with painful experiences and traumatizing memories, suffering from their inevitable conditions. However, the spouse, families and children back at home are suffering even more than soldiers.
