Dear Parents of Amery Middle School Students: The problem is with sports is that some people think that sports are bad for children because they get to The physical and others think that sports are a better choice than to do nothing and learn sportsmanship. If one had to choose on side for the competitive sports, it would be children should play competitive sports because sports help children make positive decisions and to help them with their health. The first reason why children should play competitive sports is that it helps them will their positive decision.
Sure kids are going to get hurt sometimes but by not letting them play sports is like taking away their freedom. This is an example of when I was younger and got hurt during a sport and they did not let me play, I was absolutely devastated. This has become a big debate around the world weather kids should be allowed to play their sports or if it is too dangerous. Some people believe that kids should drop the sports for safety reasons. However I believe these kids should participate in whichever sports they choose because

For any parent, it is hard for them to agree to let their child do something if they know that they could suffer from any form of injury.
Kids should be introduced to sports at a young age. For kids to gain more social benefits they should start a sport a young age. If kids need to build up physical benefits,sports is one way to help it. But the risk of injury or failure can happen happen in sports would you take the risk in letting your kid play?
Kids in sports are not at risk because it builds lifelong relationships and friendships. According to Are Sports Ruining Your Life ? You could get hurt from walking down the stairs in the morning but what are you gonna do just never walk down the stairs?Yes, there are physical risks when playing sports; on the other hand ,you can get hurt doing pretty much anything else. The most common injury that parents are scared about are concussions. If they are really scared about letting their kids play sports because of the risks of concussion then they should be scared to let them do a lot of daily activities. All children should participate in sports to improve their health, communication skills with other children and even to improve relationships with close friends and family. 40% of Australian children do not participate in any sports outside of school and 25% of Australian children are overweight or obese. This puts the child’s health in danger and also affects other aspects of their lives. Sports can improve a child’s self esteem and can let them develop in something they may never have thought of doing before. Over all, children should participate in sports to develop themselves further in life.
Youth Sports effect on young lives Youth sports can be a crucial part of developing kids life, not to mention their parents lives with all the driving, planning, organising, and the occasional drama from one soccer mom to another about how little timmy’s mom brought unhealthy snacks after the game. Youth sports have changed in many ways since I was little, now kids ,while dragging their family with them, are traveling across country for a game in a 8U league. Experts are always saying kids need to be more active, but to what extent some kids are spending their all their time playing these sports. But some aspects of sports have positives to them and some aspects are negative.
Some may argue that kids should be allowed to participate in competitive sports, others think it should be banned. Kids should be allowed to participate in competitive sports. Some may argue that competitive sports push kids way over their limit. However, studies show that more than half of the kids in America are either overweight or obese (O’Connor). If sports do not push kids over their limit, then instead of half the kids being overweight or obese, most to all of the kids will be.
While some parents believe that the competition can harm kids, I believe that sports can greatly help kids. Making them experience healthy competition and become more well rounded contributing members of society. The first reason that I believe supports my claim is that kids gain a sense of healthy competition that can prepare them for life. This can be seen in the article “Pros and Cons of Sports Competition at the High School Level” where Grace Chen, an education researcher, writer, and educator, states that sports and competition, “...help teens develop an array of personal skills, including resilience, attitude control, time management, and long term thinking abilities” (Chen 6).
