There are many reasons why Al- Qaeda attacked America on 9/11. However, the main one is that Al- Qaeda attacked the U.S in order to get rid of Western ideas. Since a lot of these western ideas usually come from the U.S Al- Qaeda chose to attack the U.S. According to one of my expert's Brain pop said that Al- Qaeda was a terrorist group who has a "twisted" thinking on Islam and how to follow the rules. Al-Qaeda believed that the western ideas of the U.S were contaminating the population and they would do anything to get their message heard. Even attacking not just one but two buildings filled with innocent people. My second expert is John green from Crash course. However, in the U.S, there was freedom and freedom of speech where civilians were allowed to express their feelings towards the government and not be punished. Freedom of speech was not part of followings al-Qaeda's strict rules so Al-Qaeda decided to attack the U.S. Another expert that also agrees is National Geographic. On National Geographic it mentions that the twin towers were a symbol of amazement and a symbol of America's economic power. For Al- Qaeda to attack the Towers it would show the other countries how America was not as powerful and didn't have the right ways to be successful as everyone else thought. Another of my experts agrees aswell , this expert is History.com. History.com mentions how Al-Qaeda wanted the U.S troops that were located in Saudi Arabia at the moment to leave the middle east. Al- Qaeda thought that the U.S troops would contaminate Islam in the middle east. Al- Qaeda decided that the U.S troops should not be located in Saudi Arabia since they would bring evil western ideas to Saudi Arabia and then expand their ideas to other Islamic
