The horrific events of September 11, 2001 was not the first example of a terrorist attack upon the United States carried out by radical Islamist. In 1993 Al Qaeda bombed the North tower of the World Trade Centers in attempt to knock down the building and to causes utter chaos. This plan failed and in the process, killing 6 and injuring 1,042. This attack by Al Qaeda proved that the United States was not invincible superpower country but that they were susceptible to terrorist attacks. This attack by Al Qaeda gave them the confidence and experience to carry out another attack. Unfortunately, eight years later Al Qaeda finished their plan of destroying the World Trade Center, when two planes flew into the North and South Towers killing 2,606. …show more content…

One of the main stereotypes that arose after 9/11 was that Muslims and Arabs were linked to radical Islam and terrorism due to the 15 out of 19 attackers were Muslims. ( New York Pakistanis) This stereotype that arose was a big distrupement of American citizens who practiced Islam. Their everyday lives were altered drastically, for example many Arab organizations were vandalized like Mosques were bombed and vandalized. ( New York Pakistanis 1) Muslims and Arabs suffered greatly from these hate crime, these such crimes have a serious effect on their lifestyles. They are targeted for because of their religion. Their everyday lives after 9/11 were altered significantly due to this continuous hate. Some of the most significant crimes occurred in Texas and Arizona. (New York Pakistanis 1) Muslims and Arabs in these two states suffered the most, for example in Arizona there were multiple incidents were Muslims were targeted and gunned down. ( Templeton, 1) This innocents were Muslims were directly targeted and killed perfectly shows the effects of 9/11 on the Muslims and Arabs. They had to deal with prejudice and security for following their religion. Their lives since September 11, 2001 have changed is a very big way and this change can still be felt
