Research Question:
‘To what extent does the movie United 93 accurately depict the devastation of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, as well as the economic and social consequences it still has on the USA in present times?”

The film depicts a first hand account of United flight 93 en route to Washington DC as it is presumed, however it is redirected to Pennsylvania where it ultimately crashes due to a terrorist hijacking aboard the aircraft. United Airlines Flight 93 was a domestic scheduled passenger flight that was hijacked by four Al-Qaeda terrorists on board, as part of the September 11 attacks. It crashed into a field near the Diamond T. Mine in Stonycreek Township, Somerset County, Pennsylvania. There was an attempt by some of the passengers to regain control, killing all 44 people aboard including the four hijackers. The movie details the accounts of this horrific …show more content…

The FAA believed the second 9/11 plane was heading towards New York for an emergency landing, however later it was released that it was indeed a hijacking. The source clearly documents the chronology of the attacks and eye-witness/black box accounts of how the event unfolded. “Ten minutes after American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the north tower of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) controllers in New York saw United Airlines Flight 175 heading "right towards the city," but thought it was aiming for an emergency landing at a New York airport, according to FAA documents released this week under the Freedom of Information Act and posted on the web by the National Security Archive. Minutes later, Flight 175 hit the south tower of the World Trade
