Hades was the son of Cronus and Rhea and the brother of all famous Zeus and Poseidon. These gods all had a throne on mount olympus were the greeks believed they sat and watched upon them. Hades the sunless unwelcoming god also known as the god of wealth received the underworld why Zeus got the sky and Poseidon got the ocean this is what lead to hades to become the sinister ruler the Greeks believed in.

Mythology is the collection of myths that denotes commonly cultural and religious beliefs of ancient human beings. The elements of it were usually the involvement of god, goddess and heroes. In addition, it was based on a man’s desire, beliefs and ideas. It also told the natural occurrence and its main purpose was to teach people moral lessons. One of the example of Greek mythology is the divine hero of ancient Greece his name was Heracles, but people knew him as Hercules.
They associated each of their gods with a different aspect of life or nature. For example Zeus was the king of the gods, Athena was the goddess of wisdom, Dionysus was the god of wine, and the list goes on. The ancient Greeks erected massive temples to these gods for worship. Each god or goddess had his or her own temple for sacrifices or offerings. They Greeks believed sacrifice was necessary to appease the gods and keep everyday life fruitful and peaceful.
Greek mythology can be viewed as a mirror to the ancient Greek civilization. Ancient Greek myths and legends often reflected how the Greeks saw themselves. Myths were used by Greeks to make justifications of every existing aspect of earth as well as their own society. In myths, Greek gods & heroes often represented key aspects of the human civilization. From Greek mythology, we can learn about the favorable characteristics of humans, such as their behavior and valuable skills that were approved of by the ancient Greek society.

This presentation of the gods reveals that the Greeks see them as powerful, smarter, and "magically" significant beings. I think that the story shows that they see the Gods to be like us, but with power and authority.

He has set high standards for epic conventions which has influenced many Greek writers, for instance Virgil. One of the most important components in traditional epic conventions is ‘intervention of Gods’. The term “deus ex machine” means an unexpected intervention by a character or object, which helps in resolving a problem which throughout the text seems unsolvable.

These myths and legends show the peoples cultures as well as their values. For example, Perseus was an important character in Greek mythology because he showed traits that were valued by the Greeks such as bravery and courage The heroes in these stories had special births and were aided by supernatural beings in order to complete their quest.
