I also personally think that it would take away from bullying and torment; if every
His actions towards Danny and Reb Saunders highlight his forgiving-nature. While the normal person would react with hatred, Reuven acted with understanding and grace. Likewise, many people admired Reuven for his intelligence. He worked hard by reading to acquire knowledge. Equally, Reuven’s determination drove him to success.
Being completely blind scared Reuven because he didn’t want to be closed off from the world. If he were blind, he wouldn’t be able to read and gain knowledge about the subjects that interest him or study the Torah, interact with others, or see other superficialities. Once Reuven has recovered he makes sure to use his eyesight for is benefits, learning and praying, and not for its negatives, judging others upon appearance. Therefore, he embarks on a new friendship with Danny without caring about the way he dresses but on his
Douglass focuses on how he doesn't seem to know his age at the beginning of his autobiography. I know this because in paragraph 1 he said "I have no accurate knowledge of my age, never having seen any authentic record containing it", Douglass also said he never met a slave that knows his birthday/age but what he did know is where he was born in which was in Tuckahoe, near by Hillsborough. It was very sad for Douglass lived an unhappy childhood the reason why it wasn't just that he was a slave it was that he didn't know much about his childhood. Douglass was very confused why slaves did not have privilege. As you can see Douglass didn't have many privileges since he wasn't like the white children.
Aaron Douglas “Surrender” I decided to do my African American Art project on Aaron Douglas. Aaron was born in Topeka, Kansas in 1899. As he grew older Aaron got his degrees from Univ. of Nebraska and Univ. of Kansas he moved to Harlem where he studied with Winold Reiss then later became very popular during the Harlem Renaissance and was known for a signature style that forged elements of African Art with a modern European aesthetic.
To Kill a Mockingbird, written by Harper Lee, narrates an unbiased, non-filtered, and innocent viewpoint from that of Scout Finch. If the novel were rewritten from another’s perspective (such as Jem’s or Atticus’), the main concept of the book would be altered. The narrative of Atticus Finch would influence less of an impact; his knowledge and experience with the town of Maycomb would weaken the depth of Tom Robinson’s case. Just like Scout’s—Jem’s outlook would also call attention to the problematic practice of racism. However, his sense of understanding the immorality of it is more mature than her.
Jayme Ragar Mrs. Brown English 10 24 February 2023 Necessary Change Society holds many views, and those views are difficult to change. However, change can be a good thing, and it starts from one person to another. The novel, To Kill A Mockingbird, shows how views change through experiences people gain through life. Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird shows how racism affected people in the 1930’s and how terrible people were treated. Since then, things have changed and racism is not a problem. Racism has changed drastically since the 1930’s; now we do not have a big problem compared to how big of a problem it was in the 30’s. In Harper Lee’s
The loss of innocence and the destruction of the innocent are also another major issue. In the novel, some examples of prejudice include the children’s prejudice towards Boo Radley. He is a misunderstood, innocent yet haunted person. He is believed as a myth and monster, but he is in reality a real person. Eventually the children mature and grow, to see him no longer as a myth, but as a real person they finally understand.

Harper Lee’s novel demonstrates her perspective on intolerance and discrimination within the early twentieth century. Firstly, intolerance of people who are different is very prevalent within the novel.
In the book To Kill a Mockingbird the main character, a young girl that goes by the name of Scout, goes on adventures of understanding how the world works. Social prejudice is shown throughout Harper Lee’s award winning book, To Kill a Mockingbird. Harper Lee powerfully analyses the theme social prejudice, and its effect on people. Such as how the Social prejudice is discrimination based on your status in society. An example of social prejudice would be the Radley family, which consists of Boo Radley, Nathan Radley and Arthur Radley. Do you see people having courage in their society? Harper Lee puts courage as a central idea of To Kill a Mockingbird just as courage is a central idea in The Giver and if you have read the book then you would know that Jonas uses his courage to change society. It is almost the same thing in To Kill a Mockingbird except Atticus is trying to stop racial segregation in the society. I believe that Harper Lee adds courage as a key component of the overall To Kill a Mockingbird story because courage can change a whole society as she proves in her book.
Do you see how it feels like “If” and To Kill A Mockingbird were written by the same person it is crazy how close they are. I am completely certain that she used this poem to develop her characters, who know how many things she used to develop her
