Intro
World War one was considered the first and biggest global war of the 20th century. It started with the assassination of Austrian Archduke, Ferdinand Franz which is actually the spark of this devastating incident and involved more countries than ever before. Nationalism is what drove the fight, people fought in the war believing that victory for their country was worth it. Europe’s great powers developed secure but moderate beliefs in its own cultural, military and economic supremacy. it was the spark that caused the war also due to geopolitical interest and issues.
Militarism
Militarism was a main factor leading into World War One. The developing nations created military tensions whilst the European divide led to an arms race; it took place when France and Russia challenged the naval superiority of Britain. So with that said Germany had the Schlieffen plan, Germany attacked France through Belgium showing how powerful there militarized country is therefore pulling Britain into war to stop Germany from doing any further damage.
Imperialism
In addition to political conflicts Imperialism was actually a major aspect in the upcoming war. The European countries had extended their empires and had dominated most countries Britain had dominated 5 countries whereas France had controlled a vast majority of Africa.
