In the late 1930s, Germany, Italy and Japan got together and colluded to fight against Allied Powers and invade other countries. The Axis Power made up of several countries; they fought against the Allied Powers in World War II (Britannica 3). Germany and Italy got critical damaged after World War I, they both had new forces rising. Japan had been developing their military power, and they needed resources badly. The three major Axis powers: Germany, Japan, and Italy; they made many disastrous mistakes during the war. The Axis Powers were stronger than Allied Powers, but why were they defeated? Germany and another country tried to invade a nation, but Germany succeeded first "Since the troops around Bastogne had stopped a major German effort to take that town late on 2 January" (MacDonald 26). Germany had a great desires to attack other countries and seize their territories. Germany had great desires to take down Russia because of its success in France and Poland, and also because Russia was recently defeated by Finland. Hitler, Chancellor of Germany, "was hell-bent on claiming the vast” Russia territories for himself (Danzer 9). Germany's overconfidence and greed made other nations angry, especially Russia, and Russia was planning to make Germany back to Berlin (Jablonski 189). Japan, Germany and Italy were gathered together because they were confident that they could be the leaders of the world and had the strongest armies, to achieve that goal "they supported each other's goal for territorial expansion, wanted destruction of Soviet Union and acknowledged each other's supremacy in their respective geographic areas" (Sparaco 3). According to Gerald Danzer, author of The Americans, "When the fascist threat democracy became too great to ignore, the United States joined the Allies in fighting the Axis Powers during World War II" (1190). Mussolini, an Italian dictator, was borne away by success, according to a writer that "he wanted to prove to Hitler and the world that Italy was the real deal. To that end, Mussolini unilaterally decided to invade Greece" (Jablonski 7). Mussolini planned to show his power to Italy, but he failed before the of consulting Germany. When Hitler was preparing for the war, he did not think about the threat of the British fleet (Sparaco 3). Hitler planned to expand his navy and modernize his weapons, but it was hard to know if the update was worth it. And they did not know if Germany would have greater success in the future or what further destruction could help them win the war (Danzer 10). According to Sparaco Lawra's article The 8 Worst Mistakes Made by the Axis During World War II, "The delay proved disastrous, stalling the attack on Moscow and forcing the ill-equipped German troops to fight in one of the worst Russian winters ever recorded" (19). Germany left regret in recording the magnificent scene because they never recorded anything liked this before; on the other hand, they could not hold up their pressure on Moscow, from fighting, and actually retreating, from the Russian sectors.
