In the letter it says for the King of England to execute Hamlet as soon as he received the letter. Though, Hamlet chuckles, “A baseness to write fair, and labored much How to forget that learning; but, sir, now It did me yeoman’s service. Wilt thou know Th’ effect of what I wrote?” Hamlet (V, ii, 38). The fact that Hamlet had worked for years to have handwriting that rivaled that of a servant whose job it was to have handwriting as beautiful and elegant as Hamlet’s. He had no need to work as hard as he did to have hand writing that elegant, but by some chance of fate he did and it ended up saving his life. He rewrote the letter
