Why Did John Wilkes Booth Kill Lincoln

On April 14, 1865, famous actor, John Wilkes Booth assassinated President Abraham Lincoln. The only question is, why, what made Booth kill Lincoln? John Wilkes Booth was mainly politically motivated, he was angry that the Confederacy lost the Civil War. I know this because, in chapter 1 of the book “Chasing Lincoln’s Killer” by, James Swanson it says the only reason Booth didn’t fight for the Confederacy was because his mother convinced him not to. He then felt like he was a coward and owed the Confederacy. After General Robert E. Lee, surrendered to the Union, Booth wanted to knock the Union off its feet by assassinating its top three leaders. Then, maybe it would help the Confederacy win the war. This tells me that Booth wanted the Confederacy
