Soon after this the 1st Neutrality Act act was passed by the government which didn’t allow Americans to lend any money to the warring nations. Following this act, the the 2nd Neutrality act was passed which clearly stated that any ship from America wasn’t allowed to carry supplies or any people to the nations involved in war. We can see that during the time 2nd neutrality act the us was not really sticking with their plan of staying completely
While the United States proclaimed itself as a neutral country in the beginning of the devastating first World War, many disagree with the statement that America wanted to remain neutral for various reasons. World War I began with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria, then quickly escalated to division into two sides between European countries; including the Allied Powers, which consisted of Britain, France, Russia, Italy, and the Central Powers that included Germany, Austria-Hungary, Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria. Since the United States made it obvious they favored the Allied Powers before they entered World War I, the other countries against these nations took this friendliness between the countries and America as a threat and interference of war. This resulted in the Central Powers noticing an unfair disadvantage for themselves.

The United States did not want to take part in World War I, the U.S simply wanted to stay neutral but then the war started to interfere with the U.S financial state. President Wilson did not want to declare war right away, instead he stated that the United States needed to prepare their army to ensure them victory. With both sides in the war running low on supplies Wilson believed it was better to be safe than sorry since the Unites States military lacked supplies, support and unity from Americans. Why is that? The U.S military around the time of the 1900’s was considered to be one of the smallest and weakest in the world because of this there was no chance against a German army of 4.5 million men.
However, in this report we will focus on certain situations that Pres. Wilson and Pres. FDR had when making choices in WWI and in WWII. Many may ask how did the United States even get involved in such a war? Although, as it can be seen in the following sentences the reason the United States got involved in WWII is fairly simple and an honestly valuable one unlike many may say the reason the U.S. got involved in WWI.

The League of Nations was an international organization created 1919 by the American president, Woodrow Wilson, as a part of his Fourteen Points. The League was meant to maintain universal peace and resolve international disputes between nations to avoid a repeat of the First World War. The League of Nations had some successes in maintaining universal peace, however, there numerous failures as well. Some of the successes include the Åland Islands crisis and the Upper Silesia incident. Some of the failures of the League include the events that took place in Manchuria and Abyssinia.
