Why Do You Think Testing Should Not Be Abolished In School

Test is all you hear now a days in school. Math test, science test, English test, but should there be a test to tell you you can or can’t get a diploma if you do or don’t meet this requirement? Teachers are working hard to teach, students are learning and studying making their grades up to par but can’t get a diploma because of a test that gives a score to students all over the world. After George W. Bush left office with the “No child left behind” didn’t make things any better. Schools are taking away student’s time to socialize with friends and communication skills because their feeling pressured of not meeting what the state think you should do on a test they came up with. Life is not a joke once you get out of school and have to take on the government and state about jobs, taxes and property. George W. Bush was a good president but he was worried about the students and wanted to help them pass through school. Students learn for 9 months and should be able to get enough knowledge and able to pass the class. The US was ranked 18th in 2002, after two years and the no child left behind act was in place the US dropped to 31st in 2008. Since President Obama came into office we are now ranked 14th in the world in education because of his leadership and having students work for what they earn. Teachers and schools need to keep pushing their kids to do the best that they can and ask for help if needed so the ranking can continue to get better and …show more content…

Testing is good for some people and they perform well, but you have some who gets test phobia and forget everything they learned when the test come. Testing can kill someone’s confidence and have negative reactions on the student and they give up on themselves and school. The state need to lower the requirement so more student are able to pass the test and feel like they have accomplished a goal and make their school proud. This test should have a meaning behind it to show the students the basic of life and what to expect. Students can’t even pay attention to life cause of this test to tell them if they can get out of high school after all that hard work for four
