Does everyone deserve a trophy? According to the "Trophies for All" policy, youth athletes are being awarded with participation trophies.On one hand, some parents of youth athletes agree with the policy by saying that it encourages their kids to play more sports. However, giving athletes awards for participating does not prepare them for the real world. The trophies cost a lot of money as well. Also, youth athletes will not try as hard because they know they will be rewarded no matter how much effort they put forth. Youth athletes should have to earn his or her trophy through hard work.

Giving youth athletes participation trophies gives them a false sense of how the world is.
