Why Families Are Incarcerated

The article talks about the various ways on how states can allow families to see their loved ones who are incarcerated. One of the main reasons why someone were not able to see their loved one or significant other is because of how far the prison or jail is placed. Every family member is not going to have the chance to go for a visit and this is the cause of families not having the opportunity to connect with them while being incarcerated. There are many people who are incarcerated and would rather be at home with their family. The only thing that they need to do is realize that someone is there to help them get in the community, back with their family. I found this article to be interesting because I saw that I was able to relate to it. I know of someone who was incarcerated and I wasn't able to see them too often. The only times I was able to see them was on Mondays, after one o'clock. The jail he was located at only allowed for two people to come in and we talked through a computer screen. I felt as if I was on skype because I was used to see the actual person. A part of me was torn because I couldn't get the sense to touch or hug him. …show more content…
