Will Romeo and Juliet’s tragedy be justified to one person? These two star crossed lovers will get married, but there are big problems with their relationship. Their families don’t get along and their parents don’t know about them. As, Juliet’s father is planning on marrying her to another guy, her father does not know about the relationship. Friar Lawrence is someone to blame for this tragedy of the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Friar is one person to blame for this. He is to blame, because he has got them married but did not tell anyone besides the nurse, she had taken Juliet there. In act Ⅱ scene 3, line 90, Friar states, “In one respect, I’ll thy assistant be, for this alliance may so be happy prove, to turn your households' rancor to pure love.” This shows us that friar is agreeing to marry Romeo and Juliet, as he believes that if he marries them that the war would end between the two different families. He fears of something about the relationship, he thinks they are too passionate and things might turn violent. The Friar must be able to help Juliet not marry the person her dad wants her to be with. Friar stops her, then he decides to give her a potion that will make her seem dead when her parents come to wake her to be married to Paris. In act Ⅳ, scene 1, lines 92-96, Friar Lawrence says, “Wednesday is tomorrow. Tomorrow night look that thou lie alone. Let not nurse lie with thee in thy chamber. Take this vial, being then in bed.” The Friar is having Juliet drink the potion on Wednesday night, so she will appear deceased to her parents when they come and wake her for the wedding.The parents of Juliet, will immediately put her in the tomb for the reason that she is dead.
