Saint Mary’s University was not my first choice in schooling. In fact, it wasn't even my second, however given the choice I would choose it again. That being said, engineering was a degree I happen to stumble across in my search to find the right fit. I find it ironic that I'm at a school I had no plans of attending, doing a degree I had no interest in, but life is funny that way. I grew up in Freeport, Grand Bahama, one of many islands in the Bahamas. After completing secondary school, I went to a college on the island. In many ways I'm grateful that I stayed that year, having learned the necessities of time management and the negative effects cramming can have, though the latter still plagues me. Sure, there wasn't a girl in football, but who said I couldn't be the first. After picking out this profession, I had to decide on a team I would want to be on. Of the thirty-two teams in the National Football League, the Dolphins were the first to be removed from my list; they were too close to home and loved by the majority of Bahamians, and I wanted to stand out. I used to be a Boston Celtics fan when I watched basketball, so I decided to remain in the same state and chose the New England Patriots as the team I want to support and eventually become a part of. This dream of becoming a football player didn't stick around long due to my height, there wasn't a position that could be played by someone barely reaching five-feet.
