Why I Should Be Accepted Into STEM In High School

Thomas Edison once said, “There is no substitute for hard work.” Nothing in life comes easy, that is why you must work hard to achieve your goals. When I first heard about STEM I was not sure if I would ever be accepted due to the high standards. I knew it was definitely the school for me, and I had to do whatever I could to get in. Ever since I moved to Downingtown, STEM has always been a high school that I would like to go to. Last year I worked as hard as I could to maintain phenomenal grades. I believe I should be accepted into STEM because not only am I hardworking, I am also very dedicated to my studies as well as extracurricular activities. At STEM not only will I contribute o school events/activities but I will also get a chance to develop as a better student. I have heard from current students at STEM about the curriculum, and have gotten various answers. Some say it is easy and others say it is quite difficult, I am up for the challenge. One student informed me that STEM offers a lot of hands on learning. This style is perfect for me because I am a fast learner, and I work well with others. It made me feel as though I had really grown a lot as a student, because not everyone in my grade got one. My teachers could have chosen any one of the 150 some children on my team, instead they chose four. I was so lucky to be one of those four because it made me realize how much it means to myself, and my teachers about my education. All throughout last year in advanced writing I maintained a 100% on all of my essays. I feel as though I have become a better writer over time and I have a very creative imagination. Going into eighth grade I have to admit I was a little unprepared for the harsh reality.
