Why I Want To Attend Georgetown University

According to Google maps, right now it would take me only thirty-six minutes to get to Georgetown. But I do not need Google maps, I know how to get there like the back of my hand. I essentially I grew up in Georgetown. I was born at Georgetown University’s hospital (along with two other screaming baby girls minutes after me, aka my triplets). I used to drive every day with my family to Georgetown’s Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center for my mother’s cancer treatment for four years and I still continue to visit her old nurses and doctors today. My favorite DC restaurant—actually scratch that…my favorite restaurant EVER—has to be The Tombs and one of my favorite things to do in the summer is to go down to the waterfront in the evening with my friends, enjoying the weather, food, and atmosphere. I do not want to come to Georgetown solely because of it’s impact on my life or it’s proximity to home. By being able to study at Georgetown University’s Georgetown College, I would be able to take advantage of a rigorous (but rewarding) academic program and the city itself, which is a prime location to pursue my goals: one day becoming a lawyer. I want to come to Georgetown in order to receive a higher education and to be surrounded by bright classmates, esteemed faculty members, Washington DC, and the world. All of this would not only help me achieve my dream and be successful at whatever I do, but it will help me become a more knowledgable and understanding person.
